Cultivation: Water poppies thrive in warm-climate pools or in tubs .
They need full sun and water less than 18 in (45 cm) deep.
Plant in loamy silt with a topping of sand or gravel.
Propagate by breaking up the rhizomes .
Do not plant near waterways outside their native habitat.
