
This is a genus of 20 species of erect to spreading annuals,
perennials and subshrubs with daisy-like, terminal flowerheads in a
range of colors from white, yellow and orange to red, purple and
lilac. Found throughout Mexico and Central and South America, they
make excellent cut flowers and look good in mixed borders.

Flowering colors: Brown, Crimson, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red,
Scarlet, Violet, White, Yellow
Cultivation: These plants are marginally frost hardy and should be
grown in a sunny position in fertile soil that drains well. They
need frequent deadheading. Propagate from seed sown under glass
early in spring. |
