Found in Yunnan China in shady location in evergreen broad-leaved forests at elevations of 1000 to 3600 meters as a medium to large sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with conical pseudobulbs enveloped by 3 to 4 sheaths and carrying 3, not well developoed at blooming, not deciduous, elliptic to elliptic-lanceolate, abaxially puberulent, undulate margins, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary, as the leaves are arising, erect, 8.8" to 32" [22 to 80 cm] long, laxly 7 to 20 flowered inflorescence with persistent, narrowly lanceolate, glabrous floral bracts and carrying foul smelling, slightly nodding flowers. .
