Common Name or Meaning Flower Size 1 1/4" [3 cm]

Found in the Myanamar and Malaysia [Philippines?] at elevations around 1200 meters as a medium to large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with fusiform, leafy stems carrying many deciduous, lanceolate, purplish below leaves and blooms on 1 to 3, pendant, to 12 flowered inflorescence arising on new and older leafless canes carrying long-lasting flower occuring in the fall and spring

D epidendropsis is cited as a synonym of this species and may be , mostly separated only on color differences but I have left them separate at this time.
