This small sized, terrestrial orchid with mottled green leaves is found in the Philippines at elevations of 400 to 800 meters in humus pockets between rocks on the forest floor in deep shade with 4 to 5, narrowly or oblong-elliptic, tesselated dark and light green above, basal margins ciliate leaves and blooms on an erect, terminal 10 10" [25 cm] long, inflorescence with ovate, green veined maroon, pubescent floral bract carrying a single flower occuring in the winter and spring.
