There is some doubt that this handsome fan palm is truly nati ve to
Fiji or from Tonga. It is impressive for the crown of luxuriant
foliage, consisting of huge, pleated fronds each up to 5 ft (1.5 m)
across and only shallowly divided into segments.
The flowering branches are shorter than those of many other pritchardias, not extending beyond the fronds and bearing dense
clusters of yellow flowers at their ends; the fruits are small,
black and round.
This palm is easily cultivated and makes rapid growth.Flowering
colors: Yellow
Cultivation: They prefer moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil and
light shade when young.
Propagate from seed.
