
Originating in Mexico, this usually unbranched cactus g rows up to 20
ft (6 m) high with a trunk width of 12 in (30 cm).
Its gray-green branches produce white or pink, funnel-shaped flowers
in summer.
The glossy, spherical fruit grow to 2 in (5 cm) across.

Cultivation: Plant in full sun in light, gritty, very free-draining
soil.
Propagate from seed as rooted basal offsets are rare.
Some species produce cristate growths that are grafted onto normal
stems.
