The
only true shrub in the genus, this upright evergreen grows to a
height and spread of 6 ft (1.8 m) and has glossy green leaves. Its
trumpet-shaped golden yellow flowers, occasionally streaked with
orange,sometimes followed by large, shiny seed pods.
It prefers a sheltered sunny position.
Prune to control shape and it often benefits from the stems being
tied to supports.
